For the purposes of our theme, the dog represents all the many annoying people the world is full of that try to get in the way of us doing our thing, and steal the time we'd rather be putting towards more interesting activities such as dancing around solo in our groovy pads and envisioning ourselves as Victor Mature, since we see ourselves as we truly are. Sometimes the groovy chick is just beyond our reach. Our hero finds a solution I would not recommend for everybody, as it falls more in line with the activities of the Creep, a mutated other form of hermit we avoid and eschew and do not associate ourselves with. But we'll let the Hep Cat off the hook on that one. He's a legend.
